1. Who we are
Humans of Valor operates Pro Bono Connect as a technology and advocacy tool that helps clients request support and helps verified service providers review and respond to suitable requests. You can contact us at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
For clients, we may collect information such as service needed, name, email, age, sex or gender, address, phone contact, availability, and notes submitted through the request form. For providers, we may collect business and representative information, contact details, service category, service area, capacity, account credentials, and Business Registration Document uploads. We may also keep status records, email verification records, provider responses, and administrative notes needed to operate the service.
3. How we use information
We use submitted information to receive requests, verify email addresses, route requests to appropriate providers, support KYB and activation review, send service notifications, maintain dashboards, prevent misuse, and improve the reliability of the platform.
4. How information is shared
Humans of Valor administrators may review submitted information to operate the service. Providers initially receive a limited client preview. Full client contact details are made available to a provider only after that provider accepts a request. We may also use trusted technical services for hosting, database storage, email delivery, automation, security, and related operations.
5. Client and provider choice
Humans of Valor provides the technology and advocacy support for easier access to services. Clients decide whether to engage with a service provider after being matched or contacted. Providers decide whether to accept or decline available requests. Humans of Valor does not control the professional relationship between a client and a provider.
6. Email verification and communications
Clients and providers are asked to verify their email addresses so they can receive service updates and account notices. We may send emails about request status, provider signup status, password resets, account changes, and administrative follow-up.
7. Safeguards and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or loss. No online system is perfect, and users should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive details in form notes. We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for service delivery, administration, legal, security, and recordkeeping purposes.
8. Access, correction, and deletion requests
You may ask to access, correct, or request deletion of your information by contacting [email protected]. We may need to keep some information where required for legitimate operational, legal, security, or dispute-resolution reasons.
9. Children and vulnerable users
If a request is submitted for a child or someone who cannot meaningfully consent, the submitter should be a parent, guardian, caregiver, or authorized person. Emergency situations should be directed to emergency services or appropriate crisis resources.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
